Cinema - The Exorcist
The Exorcist (1976) Directed by William Friedkin.
Loads of controversy surrounds this film which was banned in 1986 under the Video Recordings Act having being deemed too scary for home viewing. There were also concerns that it would too disturbing for young women.
Apparently nine people died during filming, the set burned down and the press reported of young Linda Blair (Regan) being left deranged after the filming. It is understandable how people would have come to such a conclusion after watching the 14 year old in the film.
The controversy and stories surrounding the film just further add to the viewing experience, adding a 'real world' aspect to the film.
I believe The Exorcist to be the most frightening horror film ever made, it's brilliant.
